No more mondays… I want to stay in bed.

No offense Monday, but I simply wish the weekend were a little longer, and there is a simple and effective way we can do that, take Monday and make it an extension of Sunday!

Seriously, this was a nice weekend, relaxing, and beautiful! I decided that this would be the weekend that I would tackle that decoupage project that I have been putting off, and I must say that it did not turn out as I had expected. I think that the end product is okay though, but just okay. I will post pictures of it on my house site, eventually.

Other than that, I went bowling twice in one weekend. Love that. I love bowling. I want to do it more. Seriously. I am going to get my own ball. And shoes. And I don’t care what you think about that.

I want my ALIAS back!!!!!!

It has become a ritual, watching Alias every week. I have been doing it for so long. I even followed it to Wednesdays. But, halfway into the new season, I feel that I must make a statement, rather a plea, to the writers of the show. There are several key things that Alias just doesn’t have, key things that made it my favorite show. These things that I have been sitting and waiting for all this season, hoping each episode that they will appear. So, in a desperate attempt to both vent my frustrations, and pray that somehow, somewhere a writer of the show will hear this, I have decided to spell out what I miss about my favorite show Alias. Here it goes.

to Roth or not to Roth…

In the continuing effort to write more often, which was initiated just yesterday, I would like to talk about the next big step I have chosen to implement in my life, which occurred around 10 am this morning. I have opened my own IRA. Some may say, about time; some may say good for you; hell, some may say so what; and that is all good. But I am pretty jazzed about it, I am on my way to making a future, and there is always something that feels good about that. I have the house, the honey, and the dog… why not retirement? Yeah.

Also, I have decided that I want to work more on recreational writing. This may mean that you see some pretty weird stuff, and I say, go with it. Understand it. Embrace it. Just don’t rub it… too much.

The daily post… HAHAHAHA!

You know, I honestly think that I do not post enough on here, so I am going to start making a concentrated effort, since I seem to get bored so much, so often. This will be my effort to share that boredom with whomever is reading these very words at this very moment. Take today, for instance? I seem to have stumbled on, what appears to me to be one of the most interesting, albeit colorful and colorful, ecommerce websites selling, you guessed it, underwear. Give it a spin? warning, there is nudity. But only if you are lucky.
ginch gonch
enjoy.

Kelly Clarkson at the Fox, and I AM GOING!

Okay, so I know that this totally makes me sound like I am a giddy little school girl, but so what, I am really excited. I just bought tickets (pretty decent tickets) to see Kelly Clarkson at the Fox in Atlanta on May 4th. That’s right, and I am damn excited. I love Kelly Clarkson, and I totally forgive her for making that little movie with Justin. All that aside, I feel that Kelly may be taking the place of one Ms. Spears in my heart. I have always loved Brit, don’t get me wrong, but lately, things just seem like the fire is dieing down, and Brit isn’t throwing any burnable wood on, if you know what I mean. Brit, we need a new album, a new single (oh, and “Do Something”… don’t do THAT something… make it stop), something honey? no more of this trashiness. Oh well, let’s not let this moment be about that, let’s revel in the Kelly tickets!!! I cannot wait!

NYC… and WICKED!!!!!!!!!!

I just got home from my very first trip to NYC, and all I can say is… thank goodness! LOL seriously, I was sick most of the time I was there, unfortunately, and I am actually glad to be home. There is nothing like being sick and stuck in a hotel, and honestly, I think that it makes you worse!! But… there were some good things. I did get to see times square, and I thought it was really fun seeing some of the other parts of NYC. James and I had a chance to walk around and see some great things (like the empire state building). But I must say that the most wonderful thing that happened while I was there, was finally seeing Wicked. That’s right, I saw Wicked. Finally. I have loved this show since I first heard about it (thanks Steve!), and now, I have seen it. And it was wonderful. More wonderful than I could have imagined.

Just a little hello from me…

Here’s to all those that read this… I am doing well, I am just busy with work and stuff. I am liking my new job a lot, and it requires me to do a lot more work, which is really nice. I also have been travelling a bit… I like a little bit of travel, but not too much. Anyways… Just wanted to say I am doing great, and all of that! =o)

Bristow is back…

Welcome to 2005 folks, and the beginning of a new season of Alias. That would be the reason that I sit here and write this entry with such glee and gaiety. I must admit that when I saw that the first season premiere episode would be two hours, I have to say that I really did jump and down. And I was not at all disappointed. This season is going to kick ass. For all of those that didn’t see it, here is a brief re-cap:

It begins with Sydney on a mission, where she must seduce a chemist for some isotope, and then, once she gets it from him, must fight off an attacker, all on a speeding train, only to fall out of the side, clinging for dear life, with said knife-welding attacker cutting the net she is holding onto? then? 72 hours earlier? (yeah, I know!) cut to Sydney running down the street trying to get away from some killers, in what appears to be an extraction of one agent, and another agent’s intel. That didn’t go so well, the other agent gets killed, so Syd is in big trouble with one of the heads at CIA, and gets chewed out, so much so, that they reassign her to the mail room at Langley, ouch! Sydney responds to this by quitting the CIA. I know. But, this is actually a cover, and the whole thing is a secret way to get Sydney working for a black ops division of the CIA (deja vu?) to be known as the APO (authorized personnel only). Come to find out this organization within the CIA is head by none other than Sloane. Nice. Now they are off on missions galore, cut to the mission in the beginning with the train, and even off on another one where she has to steal a sword from a museum. Intense action and butt-kicking ensue. Oh! And we find out what those black pages said from that lock box last season? they are orders from CIA giving Jack clearance to murder Irena Derevco. WHOA. So Syd is pissed about that the entire episode, and who would blame her, but come to find out later, that the same guy they are after had a contract out on Syd’s head, and that contract came from Irina! (So Jack kind of had to kill her, you know? save their daughter). Anyways? lots of action in the episode, and a feel that we are getting back to the heart of Alias, with Syd’s life outside of CIA taking a major presence again. Loved it. Cannot wait for more. And as I sit here now, squirming in my seat waiting for next week’s new episode, I say this with great joy? Welcome back Alias. Welcome back Sydney and the whole team. You have been missed…

survivor… of the holidays

So, I made it through yet another “fun-filled” Christmas. And now that it is over, I can go back to the normal world where we don’t spend so much time and money preparing for the one day that you “get” to spend with those that you love. Yeah… now I need a vacation from my vacation. But only one more work week at my old job, and then it is on to the new job!!!

That’s right folks! I am employable at more than one place! Well, maybe just one place, doing something different. After all, I am not leaving CDC, just moving on to a new branch. I will be starting my new position, which will be more program evaluation, and more travel. I am really looking forward to this change, and hope to have adventures to speak of from my upcoming travels. Can’t wait. Till then… Keep breathing.

Conservative America…. UGH, pu-lease.

So, it has been a while since my last post, and this is something that I liken only to a mish mash of grief from the travesty towards civil rights that was the election earlier this month, and just sheer boredom, or what I like to call it, the lack of anything important to write. But now I feel that I must come out of my silence, for something , alas, has pissed me off again.
What I speak of is simple, and hey, now that I think about it, it does relate, if even ever so slightly, to one of the major issues that shaped the outcome of the election. What is this he speaks of, you may wonder. Well, I am talking about gay rights, and America’s ass-backward way of looking at homosexuality as a crazy, demented thing that was created to piss off the Christians, for whatever reason. Two things really have shown me how crazy Americans really are, and begs me to ask the question, “Why the hell do you care so much, and why can’t you just leave the homos alone????” So here it goes.
