since this is a blog, I guess I should post, right?

Not much is going on with me at the moment, so there isn’t much to post about; well, nothing that I would want to commit to typed words going off into the infinite reaches of the internets anyway.

This weekend had it’s nice points. I saw two movies, both of which I liked, District 9 and Ponyo.

I liked the idea and the attempt at paralleling apartheid that came with District 9, but it had a little too much going on for me to really focus (as my friend John stated, this must be Peter Jackson’s Cloverfield — even though he didn’t direct it). However, I will say, that we saw it at the drive in, so perhaps I just need to see it again, in an environment when I can really focus on it. I will have to rent it when it comes out. It was enjoyable, though.

As for Ponyo, I posted about it last week, and my excitement had me really revved up to see it. I detest going to the theater, and this was no exception; all of the talking and whatnot around me made it hard to really let go and enjoy the film. However, I really did love the story, and the animation was incredible. I can’t wait to see it again, because I think that most of Miyazaki’s films require at least two viewings before a true opinion can be formed. The more I reflect on my feelings about Ponyo, the more I love it. I hope that Ponyo’s eventual release on Blu Ray will cause the powers that be to go back and commit Miyazaki’s other films to the format; they are truly deserving of the treatment, and I know that I would be one of the first to rush out and buy them!

Other than that… not much else. How about you?

what’s going on?

Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Well, at least, that is how it feels. It feels like all I do, is get up, go to work, listen to music, come home, hang out with James, and then repeat the whole process. I guess it is something to be said about things being a little “slow”, but I feel like I am kind of in a rut again.

This weekend, James was out of town, and I kind of shifted into “spring cleaning” mode, and decided that we needed to get rid of some of the clutter that we have managed to shove into every available cabinet and closet space in our house (which sucks, because our house is kind of on the small side). I managed to clean out a little bit of stuff, and made things at least feel less cluttered. I also took a foray into utilizing freecycle, which I signed up for a long time ago, but never utilized. I am excited about the prospect of taking something that I don’t need, and passing it on to someone who does need it; rather than throwing it away. I am awaiting a “meet up” email from the first responder, so we will see how it goes; it will determine how I use the service in the future. Perhaps I should see if there is anything on there that we might need… but I think that clearing things OUT before bringing them IN is a good idea for the here and now.

Perhaps I should explore some of James’ things in the attic while I’m at it? Watch out!

is there anything else?

So yeah, I felt like I had a while ago, but now I really believe that it has finally happened; I have hit the end of the internet. I have seen everything that I could “stumble upon” (no relation to the site… but maybe I should check that out?), and I only have about 4 or 5 websites that I drift back and forth on throughout my day. Of course, it is the staples like flickr, digg, the news channels, my site, etc; but that’s it. I don’t watch videos on you tube because my computer has no sound and I share an office. Also, I listen to my ipod, so it is silly to watch videos with no sound; so that site’s out. What else is there? Is there something amazing that has new fresh content every day that I need to be seeing? Is there something that I am missing? Because it seems that even the regular bloggers don’t blog everyday, so again, there is a lack of new and fresh stuff. As such, I find myself clicking through flickr throughout the day, over and over again. So, tell me what you guys look at, and what engages you on these internets; because I feel like I am either missing it, or I have already seen it, and that’s all there is to that.

fruity friday

Hope everyone is having a great end of the week day. I am having some pain in my leg, but other than that… no worries. I thought the fruit was a great way to brighten the day, no?

I am having a hard time dealing with mundane, repetitive tasks today, but then, at least I am getting stuff done, right? I will be happy when it is completed!

Last night, I was up very late, because I got really into updating my dvd library pages and whatnot. I am going to try and get all of my html files into wordpress, mainly because it is much easier to update that way. I do wonder, though, if anyone actually reads that stuff; other than to poke fun at it, that is. Oh well, I love the organization, so I guess it doesn’t really matter, now does it?

What does everyone have planned for this weekend? I am torn between things to do tonight, and I might have to make a choice for the one that I wasn’t planning on, but would make someone else very happy. I am fine with that, though; I just don’t want to let others down. Tomorrow should be relaxing, and I think that I am going to try and come up with new photo ideas… Anyone want to go on a photostroll?

Also, I am loving Lily Allen and Kellie Pickler today; talk about opposites. I am going to see Lily at the Loft on Monday, March 19th if anyone wants to come… we have a little group going, and I think it will be a blast. Oh well, let me know! That’s all for today!
