On Monday, June 14th, 2004 my partner James and I closed on our very first house! How exciting. It was a rocky road to get to closing (we actually closed 3 days late) but we made it. A fussy septic tank struggle, whether to hook up sewer or not, and a myriad of appraisals that were "totally necessary" paved the way to that closing, but like I said, we made it. It is totally ours (well, we are borrowing it from the bank, really, but you know what I mean!!)! So, this page will be the place that I share pictures, stories, and whatever that could be of interest related to the house. After all, most of, scratch that, all of my family lives outside of Georgia, so this is a good way they can see (and you can too, silly, I didn’t forget about you) what is going on with my house, what it looks like, and what changes. Anyways…without further adieu... click on the links to take you to each picture gallery, which will open in a new window.

February 2006: New Living Room! Here, we decided to make our front guest room into a full fledged living room; in order to fully take advantage of all of our space. Here is what it looks like now!! The old living room, which is now the salon, is also pictured.
August 2005: A new porch! Here are the pictures of the new porch that we are adding to the front of the house. More pictures will be posted as the project progresses, and even more when we finally get around to painting it!
August 2005: Bathroom Remodel James and I finally finished the bathroom remodel. We tore up the tile in the bathroom and the laundry room; and replaced it with slate tile. We then painted both rooms. We built and installed the new sink in the bathroom, and had an electrician add lights. WHEW! I thought it would never end. And all of the mess is finally cleaned up!!!
December 2004: I am always in a DIY mood, and you will see the product here... I built a desk, some CD shelves, added a mirror unit to the bathroom, and more! I cannot wait to do even more, and when it happens, it will be featured here! YEAH! Oh, and decorations for Christmas too...
September 2004: I know that this is a long time after we moved in, but I honestly have been waiting for a moment when the house was "clean enough" to take pictures worth showing. Don't want people to think that we live like pigs, now do we?? Well, of course we don't, in fact, it looks like this 99% of the time, change maybe a throw blanket or a glass on the table. Really folks, that is all the excitement I’ve got.
June 2004: These pictures were taken before we closed on the house. We were really excited, and wanted something to show for our expensive purchase. James loves goofing off in these, so watch out for those!
