amber’s analogy

Check out Amber’s post on the hypocrisy of abstinence-only sex education. It is nice to know that other people share my thoughts about teaching abstinence only; and can use comparative analogies so eloquently! If you know anything about me, you know, I love my analogies!!!

And as for my comment, I really did spell check ludicrous, and it changed it to ludacris. Seriously.

A new day; a new Martha! (it’s a good thing)

Last night, when I came home, I was flipping through the Tivo guide, looking for something to watch, when I stumbled upon it: the new Martha show was about to come on. I quickly turned to TLC, so that I could see what this new show was all about, and I was met with something wonderful. Martha is back, and she is better than ever. Now, I know that a lot of people don’t like Martha for whatever reason, but frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn. I have mad respect for someone who can not only make, grow, paint, and create anything; but someone that can also own up to something, go to jail for it, and then come out unscathed; with both her reputation and dignity intact.
Welcome Back, Martha!

farewell, sweet Kathy G’s D-List show, farewell…

Sadness. Gloom. Despair. And it hasn’t even been 24 full hours. BOO HOO!!! I miss you already, Kathy Griffin!!! In case you are like, what is this nut job talking about, then you must have missed the season finale of Kathy Griffin: my life on the D-list last night. Kathy brought me something that many only taunt me with, and for that, I want to issue this thank you to her: Thank you Kathy, for making me smile, for making me laugh, and most of all, for making me enjoy my time with you.

I heart Baton Bob (aka the Ambassador of Mirth)

Pure joy and elation could not fully describe what I witnessed last evening: Baton Bob is a regular at Joes on Juniper, as the host of Monday night bingo!!! WHAT??? How did this get by me??? All of you that know of my intense, and often touted as strange, love for the batoned one, must think that I have died and gone to heaven; but luckily, I am still alive, and I was merely right here in our very own neighborhood, at Joe?s! I only wish I would have brought my camera? be damned that it was dark? I don?t care!!! Bob was wearing a fabulous, as always, tutu and some fierce Jackie O glasses, and walking up and down blowing his whistle and twirling his baton.

birthday parties and ghettoness in our house

Last night, James and I went to a party for a friend of ours birthday (happy birthday Rebecca). I had a great time (which I usually do at parties, I cannot help myself…), but I could not help taking away this one thing: I really do miss our group of friends doing things together. After James and I got together, and everyone started to get busier with work, and couple off themselves, it has just seemed that we all gradually stopped doing things together. And I miss that! It was great seeing people last night, and there were a ton of people that I haven’t seen in a while. But enough about that.

I totally missed it!

Two days ago (the 27th), was the birth of my blog! If you have been following it, you know that it has grown, by leaps and bounds, into what you see before you. I know that I am always saying that I am changing this, or changing that, but I really do like what I have, as of right this moment, and think that it really captures what I wanted to capture. All in all, I have transformed my site to be more blog centered, and I kinda like it that way. I guess I won’t ramble, but I did want to say Happy Belated Birthday, blog… any many more!!!!

green tea frappuccino… yum!

I just had a green tea frappuccino (thanks D), and it was simply wonderful. I hate to advertise for Starbucks, but this thing was so freaking good. See, I held out on frappuccinos, until recently, because I really didn’t see the big deal. Now, I do. But this green tea one takes the cake, and raises the bar a little higher. Apparently, it is so new that Starbucks doesn’t have it on their website, but it is wonderful. It tastes a lot like green tea ice cream. I can’t wait to have another!

mr fangs, part deux

Okay, so as I mentioned in an earlier post,, I have become a teeny tiny bit obsessed with tracking down and documenting as many mr fangs as I can. Well, so far, I have been pretty successful. Check it out

my mr fangs photos

If you have sightings that I don’t, drop me a line and let me know where I can spot it. Also, if you see one you like, I can tell you where it is, as long as you aren’t a cop. I do think that this is one graffiti that should stay!!!!

Mr Fangs

I have a new purpose:

Find Mr. Fangs!!!

I have decided that since I love this graffiti so much, I need to go out looking for more (I have some pictures of it already on my site… see the link to the right… use it). I love it! I want to find the place where the main page splash is located at, since I believe it is in Atlanta. Love this!

NYC… and WICKED!!!!!!!!!!

I just got home from my very first trip to NYC, and all I can say is… thank goodness! LOL seriously, I was sick most of the time I was there, unfortunately, and I am actually glad to be home. There is nothing like being sick and stuck in a hotel, and honestly, I think that it makes you worse!! But… there were some good things. I did get to see times square, and I thought it was really fun seeing some of the other parts of NYC. James and I had a chance to walk around and see some great things (like the empire state building). But I must say that the most wonderful thing that happened while I was there, was finally seeing Wicked. That’s right, I saw Wicked. Finally. I have loved this show since I first heard about it (thanks Steve!), and now, I have seen it. And it was wonderful. More wonderful than I could have imagined.
