It’s that time again, time to make an ongoing, editable list of my top CDs of 2008. Here’s a quick breakdown of star ratings and whatnot:
The number of stars (out of 5) represents a couple of things: how much I enjoy the album, how much I listen to it, and how good I feel that it is overall. All of these go into determining the “rating”. If something tanked rating wise, just know that it didn’t click well with me for whatever reason.
Now that the formalities are out of the way, let’s get to the list of the CDs, shall we??
And there we go! Below is my list of my favorite albums of 2008. Be sure to check out the blog, as I wrote an entry for each! Let me know what you think of my picks!

I thought I saw you post that you liked Alanis Morrisette’s new CD – am I mistaken? It’s one of my favs for 2008.
Interesting list. There were names I wasn’t familiar with and happy to be introduced to: Owl City sound like a nice tradeoff between Death Cab and Postal Service (and aren’t they basically the same?). Also, Uh Huh Her and The Ting Tings.
A bunch on the list I think are disappointing follow up CD’s, i.e. (again) Death Cab For Cutie, Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs.
A more mature list would have included a broader range of music, like Boz Scaggs’ Speak Low, etc.
Thanks for the new names.
