If you use firefox, and like me, find the flickr buddy icon reply function to be one of the best scripts for greasemonkey, and one that you use daily, you are probably wondering where in the hell it went! Well, thanks to one of my flickr contacts, I was led to a forum that had the script update that I needed to fix the problem. Here it is. Just click on that link, and it will install it, and just like that, you are back in business. No need to thank me, you are more than welcome.
Also, this is just a gripe, but I am sick and fucking tired of iTunes. It is the slowest, worst program on my computer, and I am a complete slave to it. It deletes album artwork whenever it feels like it, and doesn’t put it on my ipod when I update it half of the time. I mean, how much is it to ask Apple to make a program that is literally used by millions of people to have the functionality that it promises?! I just don’t get it. Grrrr I tell you. GRRRR.

Thanks, I was wondering where my reply icon went! As for iTunes, I have the same issue with album art. Very frustrating.
I tried updating to the 3.5 version by clicking your link and I still don’t have the reply icons back. What the hell?! Is there something else I should try?
@Jill: chances are, it updated; they moved it to below the picture instead of beside it where it was. Check there!
Just thought I’d add my name to the list. I couldn’t find it below the picture or anywhere else, but I have been known to be oblivious! I hope they fix it soon.
@Heather: Here ya go:

They made it so small, I overlooked a half dozen times, until I finally read the comments herein, and I got it. doh! Thanx for your help.

Thankyou for that, the Flickr script I mean.
)
The iTunes thing, I manually added a load of album artwork to mine because iTunes couldnt find it, it seems that they dont spontaneously disappear that way
Thanks so much for posting this blog and the reply to Jill above. It solved my problem.
This is the ONLY fix that has worked for me. After reading and clicking on dozens of links in Flickr threads, I found your page. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
What happened to that script?
I tried install/reinstall/upgrade it, with no success, I upgraded my Firefox and then tried to reinstall and now it works.
Martin
Thank you for the script update! I thought I was losing it or it had somehow got uninstalled when the options just disappeared.
I agree with you on iTunes as well – it’s a bloated piece of crap. It has something against some of my Cure albums – even if I manually add the artwork and re-sync the albums to my iPod, the artwork still won’t appear. It’s quite frustrating, although the single worst thing about iTunes is it’s utter refusal to monitor your music folder to keep your library clean. You have to manually add and remove music which is just retarded considering the fact that pretty much every other music management system out there can do it for you.
Hey!! Thank you very much!!
I haven’t answered to any of my comments in over a week because of this… I just can’t think of doing it without the buddy icon!! haha….
thanks!
Thanks a lot, I wasn’t able to post on flickr the normal (buddy-icon) way for days. Glad you solved my problem.
Interestingly I found your post by googling for ‘buddy icon reply’.
It ranked 4th.
Thanks very much! Googled this question and found your article.
We also googled. And what a relief. Thank you for posting!
Thanks for the help in fixing icon reply.
With your iTunes problem I think apple do this on purpose, maybe you could try a different music manager like winamp or mediamonkey both support ipods and album art (PC Only)
Thank you.. it worked like a charm!!!
worked, great, thanks!
Doesn’t work anymore. The link is just some text.
Thanks heaps, its back, I love my buddy icon reply… I think I want to have your babies now… or something akin to that. Cheers! AL.
Thanks a lot Duane! I don’t even know why that option just disappeared!!
but it works again!
PERFECT!
I was trying to find the darn button and finally realized it disappeared.
@andy: You have to install the Firefox-addon “greasemonkey”
FINALLY!
Thanks a million! Your post
solved my BIR-problem too!
3 cheers from Belgium!
As everyone else said, this is the only thing that worked. THANK YOU!
Hey man, have you tried MediaMonkey? you can also use it to manage your iPod. I always use iTunes, only to transfer songs [only that!!] but recently tried MM and worx great!!
Here is the place where i get the explanation from: http://www.taringa.net/posts/downloads/1622199/Media-Monkey-con-Tapas-y-Letras(Muy-Buen-Reproductor).html
Its in Spanish, if spanish and you are not friends [no offense], i can give you a briefing.
You have to use MediaMonkey with Lyricator Script added, and you can add lyrics and Covers to the albums.
I’m in the way to solve a problem: When i check in my Ipod, lyrics y supposedly saved, are not there [but covers does!].
Well i hope this be useful to you.
By the way: thanks for the help with the script! Mine have gone away, now is back.
