If anything, I like the mix a little better now with the merger. But yeah, my life would suck without Radio One.

When I heard the news I had the same thoughts--that I shouldn't renew. I think my renewal date is in May so I have some time to think about it. But I haven't been as happy with the music selections since the merger, and my car does have a 6 CD changer and an iPod dock, so I might just go without ole XM when it expires.

I never got any email like Jen did.

When I bought my Civic in September of '07, I received three months of XM for free and of course, I bought a year subscription when that time was up because I had become addicted to it (primarily b/c I was driving up to Calhoun a lot and you can't get Atlanta channels).

4 days ago, XM sent me the following email:

"On March 11, 2009, the XM Radio Online listening platform will be upgraded to a higher quality digital audio and no longer included as a part of a base subscription at no charge. If you renew now at www.xmradio.com/lockintoday, you can continue to listen online for FREE for the length of term you choose -- but only if you act quickly."

So they're asking people to renew even though they're about to file for bankruptcy (which I'm sure a lot of people don't know about). What bullshit.

That would totally suck, since I hate regular radio and listen constantly to bbc radio one. What will I do without a daily dose of 'oh what's occurring?' I'm holding out that someone will buy it and programming will remain much the same.
