simplicity

hibiscus
waking up
brushing teeth
taking pills
driving
talking
eating
leaving
sleeping

simple tasks
completed each day

happening so fast
without thought
without drive
without change

simple tasks
distract from the world around
buzzing
whirring around me

I am caught in slow motion
everything seems at a standstill
or I am moving so quickly
that it only seems to have slowed around

I am too caught in my flow
to notice the simplicity
the beauty
the difference

I am too caught in the flow
to just stop
and live for the moment

and sometimes
that is what scares me most of all

    Duane!

You have to hear Alphabeat! They are Danish! They have two videos on youtube, “fascination” and “10000 nights”! They are so much fun!

Doug, it’s funny, because I actually heard of them last year around this time. I do like them, but I was a bit disappointed by their album (everything other than those two tracks).

Oh, and Duane, I loved the photo. It is beautiful. The poem is very thoughtful as well. Sometimes I do that too, get caught up in the speed of life. I need to slow down. The nice thing is I get to visit with my mom for a week over July 4. She lives on a little lake in Northern PA and it is very peaceful and when I do, I don’t have to do anything or have an itinerary. I can just visit and relax and hang out. I try to visit her as many times a year as I can!
I didn’t want you to think I wasn’t paying attention to the post because I got all excited about music, but you are one of the people I know who understands about getting excited about finding a new song or an artist!

Doug, no worries at all! I know that you are just as passionate about music as I; I welcome the suggestions!!! After all, you have turned me on to some of my favorites (hello Pipettes!!!!).

    Wendy, I know!!!

Nice post Duane! I think everyone should learn to live more for the moment and appreciate small things.
