I have talked to some people at school, and I am not alone in the quest for the RN; it seems to be something that would definitely work for me for immediate gratification. When I began my prereqs back in 2005, I felt it would be forever until I got my degree...and now I get my nursing pin (and BSN) in less than a month!!! You gotta take it one semester at a time. If you do decide to do the ADN route first just to expedite becoming an RN, I suggest you check with the employers in your area to find out their requirements. Many major hospitals here in Boston will not hire new nursing grads unless they have a BSN. If you ever need to vent, you can always e-mail me. I feel your pain! :) Don’t get discouraged, Duane.
