I liked this movie a lot, but it also really bothered me. They really got the sense of what it must feel like to be married to an unpredictable man, but seriously, so much heartache, and lack of control in that lady's life. Yeesh. Overall, very pretty, romantic, and well, sad.

I refuse to write out all that nonsense that the author of the book made them attach to the title. Anyway... I thought this movie was gripping, and powerful with the performances, but overall, it was kind of dull. It was extremely disjointed, and even veered off track at times, and then, just as the story reached its climax, the credits rolled without any solid ending. I can see why it got so much praise, but to be honest, there are girls that find themselves in this situation in real life every day, and they don't get the praise that Precious got. Why not take this example, and make a better system that would deal with these issues and actually help people; rather than just tout it as a good movie that shows the horrors of some people's lives?

A quirky, cute, and fun take on a tried and true franchise; zombies! This movie is full of quotable material, and surprises that had me chuckling more than a few times. Great fun!

I enjoyed it for exactly what it was; a mindless end-of-world thriller that relied solely on special effects to fill what the plot certainly could not. Overall, completely unrealistic, but fun on blu-ray.

Entertaining, but obviously predictable. I thought it was a little too intense for kids though; if I were a parent, I probably wouldn't have been happy if I'd just taken my kids thinking it was a kids movie.

Have you heard the song “New Soul” by Yael Naim from the new Apple MacBook Air ad? I heard it today for the first time and thought you’d like it. That’s all.
Steve, I hear ya man!
Simon, I haven’t, but I am going to look it up right now. Thanks for the suggestion! Keep them coming!
I gotta say I disagree – ‘Arular’ was just so full of cool stuff, and while ‘Kala’ goes in another direction (and is much less accessible), it keeps growing on me. I have no problem with the slightly facetious tone of some of the tracks – why shouldn’t psuedorevolutionary politics be fun??
Much of ‘Arular’s appeal is, I think, that there was/is nothing else like it – Diplo’s beats and production are, as ever, unparalleled, but the girls’ lyrics and delivery are clever and unique too.
As for ‘Kala,’ I recommend really sitting down to listen to tracks like “Mango Pickle Down Under” and “Jimmy,” which have really stellar undergrooves and, while they aren’t likely to be bolts of enlightenment, the lyrics are clever enough.
Just my thoughts!
Michael, sadly, I have given MIA all of the chances she is going to get. Also, did you mean to post this on the MIA thread?
I guess I did post to the wrong thread. oops! But anyways, that’s just more MIA tickets for me!
