This story is nothing new. The blogger Michael Rogers revealed last October that Craig had sex with multiple men he met at public restrooms in DC. Craig denied it at the time, but I think this story was the straw that broke the camels back.

I kinda find this story fascinating because

a.) Craig is one of the most anti-gay legislators. For this to come out about him is pretty interesting.

b.) I knew his son in college and he was hot. I've been watching coverage to see if I catch a glimpse of him.

ok Decaturguy, what is it with men having sex with men in public bathrooms? I didn't mean to offend, it was just a question.

I have to say I agree with both you and Dave that I am so tired of hearing this kind of "news". Our news reporters all seem to think they work for the "trash magazines" and what is really sad is that there must be a lot of people who live for this kind of news as it seems to get more and more prevalent.

I agree with you Duane, which was why I take exception to statements like "what is it with gay men and public bathrooms?"

decaturguy, I think that is a whole other issue; whether he is gay or not is not determined by him having (or wanting to have) homosexual sex. If you identify yourself as a gay person, then you are gay, but you can have sex with men, and not see yourself as gay. Gay is more of a "political affiliation" of you will... it is a party that you have to chose to be a member of; which in all cases, is determined by who you have sex with. Does that mean having sex with a man means you are gay? Nope. It means you are a man that has sex with men, a man that participates in homosexual behavior, but not necessarily a gay man. That's why we in public health refer to risk as MSM; men who have sex with men, rather than "gay or straight"... what's important is the behavior, and in this case, it isn't typical "gay" behavior anyway.

As he said in his press conference yesterday, Senator Craig is not "gay." He does not identify as a gay man. It seems the only people who try to have sex in public restrooms are closeted homosexuals. If he were openly gay, he wouldn't have to resort to seeking sex in public restrooms. As Craig proves, you can be attracted to the same sex, but not be gay.
