Thanks, Bugboy! I am passing your comment along to the Washington Post and to a White House press secretary. Apparently, the president can stop proposing budgets each year.

Can you tell me how a bill becomes a law? I am so interested in civics and I need someone really smart like you to teach me.

"do love the fact that when Bush went to visit Kansas, they were all, “thanks for coming, but you know that half our resources happen to be over in Iraq at the moment.” National guard, Mr. President."

That was proven to be false. The rumor, if you couldn't predict, was Howard Dean told the gov. to say that. If that is true he and the gov. should be forced out of their respective positions.

Justin,
What must pass Congress and be signed is a *bill*. That bill originates in the House.

"By precedent, appropriations originate in the House, with the Senate following suit."

Duane,
You claimed to watch the news a lot. I'm starting to doubt that.

I provided you a link to details of the bias a while back. I guess you ignored it.

It's all well and good to have them assist over there, but when the home front needs it, let them to what they were created to do!

I'm leaving for NO next week and I'm nervous about what I'm going to see. I've been there only once before and that was pre-Katrina. I know how different it is going to be, but I do want to do my part by spending my money in the city.

I totally love that conservatives really believe that the news is liberal and hides things that are “pro-Bush”. That’s totally funny to me.

I think the function, or dysfunction, of the news media in our society is a very rich and interesting topic. Not to toot my own horn, but I have discussed the topic at length in front of my own internet mirror;
1. Riding with Angels
2. The Propagandists
3.Bernie Goldberg.

Here are a few books/studies on the topic from various angles that I have found very illuminating.

I have a couple of statements to make about Shrub (Bush for those of you who do not know who I am talking about) and his "presidency". Every reason he has given for this war so far (that I am aware of) has been a wash. His latest reason was to keep terrorists out of our country. Well, hello....the men planning the attack on Fort Dix were living in America. His war has cost this country billions of dollars and thousands of lives and this does not include the lives of civilians in Iraq. Shrub's approval rating is at the lowest it has been since right after 9/11 (when it reached an all time high) and there is a reason for that. WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE! Get out of that 28% that are still walking around with their eyes closed. This man is a terrorist according to the FBI definition of terrorist (Terrorism is the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives. - US Federal Bureau of Investigation) and he is an idiot. Combine the two and you have one hell of a "president" to stand up for.
Tell the people living in "small town America" how well the economy is doing. That will make them feel better about going to pick up their unemployment check and food stamps. I just do not get people standing up for this idiot we have given the title "president", nor will I ever.
