Thanks for the review of Children of Men.. I had thought about seeing it, but 5/6 stars did it for me.

I saw Children of Men this week, too. Wow! I am so glad I didn't read much about the film; it really blew me away. I felt like I was watching a documentary of the future. That made the entire experience jarring and memorable.

Joel (and for everyone else, warning: SPOILERS!), I do, and I completely agree. I was mesmerized. It was also so in your face real when they left the blood spatter on the camera. Just that sequence should win an award of some kind.

Interesting thing about Children of Men,: Do you recall the scene where Clive Owen is running through that war zone of a camp and up into the building? Watch the movie again sometime and notice that the camera follows him without breaking for like 7 minutes. In other words, it's one long, continuous shot. It's very impressive, and a real achievement in cinematography.
