ARGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scariest Halloween news, ever, right? Those gays want to marry? WTF? Don’t they know that is a sacred institution that we regard so highly that we only respect it our hypocritical selves 50% of the time???
Well, be that as it may, that’s what Bush is spouting about today. These are his three most pertinent issues for consideration in the upcoming elections. Now, I understand why he is on the terrorism bandwagon, we did start a little war over there in Iraq, and we did manage to stir up more shit than we could have ever even imagined, and we have no idea how we are going to fix it, or why we are even there anymore, so it does sound like something we should be concerned about. Not to mention the thousands of soldiers that have died over there (even one was too many).
As for taxes, well, we all know that dreaded death tax, and how it only affects .04% of Americans, so that is definitely something we should take the time to really sit and ponder. If you want a tax cut, you need to make money, you poor lazy fuckers!! Get jobs you hobos!!! And, don’t forget to vote for the Republicans that utilize these these tactics to win, because they will continue to make sure you live just barely above poverty, and continue trying their best to eliminate the middle class, all so they can keep their pockets overflowing with money while you pay for everything else!!! (remember the war just mentioned… that’s part of what you are paying for!)
But I, for one reason or another, just have a slight problem that no matter what, you can always expect the bigoted right wing to whip out gay marriage when things look like it might not slide their way. “I know, I’ll say same sex marriage is just as big a threat as terrorism (after all, isn’t it the same thing?!?!?), and people will make sure to keep us around if for no other reason, than to keep those ‘mos from ruining the sanctity of marriage (remember, 50%, yo!)!!!”. And so, before every election, it again looks like we can expect to have our personal lives drug through the mud time and time again, when all we want is the same civil rights as everyone else. Why is it that something that ONLY affects the two people that are doing it, is used as a wedge issues to drive droves of bigots to the ballot boxes (which are probably rigged anyway)?? Jeez, what a pussy ass way of conjuring up votes, ass.
If you vote for someone because they are against same sex marriage, you might as well be herded in with the other sheep, sheared, and euthanized; you follow the herd, you suffer the same fate. I for one am not going to follow the lemmings off the edge of that cliff… I am not so stupid as to believe that gay marriage is anything more than what it is; it is definitely a wedge issue… so stop bringing it up to win votes, asshole. Basically, it just paints you as a bigot and a sore loser, to be honest, because we all know that without those three aces in your pocket, you would be on a ranch somewhere in Texas instead of the White House… Oh wait, that is true… you do spend most of the year there anyway instead of on Capitol Hill working for your $400k salary that I HELP PAY.
UPDATE: I realize that this rant was written in anger, and that is a place I don’t want to live, nor represent. While I don’t hate anyone, nor begrudge them for their beliefs, I would like to see a place where we don’t get swayed by issues that are in place to do just that; sway us. I apologize to someone that was obviously offended that he thought I was referring to him; when I was in fact blanketing too many people incorrectly, and inconsiderately. For that I apologize, and hope that I can exclude from my life in the future.

I recognize/appreciate/support your position on how rediculous it is to ‘protect the sanctity of marriage.’ The Republicans and specifically Bush’s position on this issue is one of the many reasons why I refuse to consider myself a Republican.
With that said, I don’t think it’s fair for you to demean the threat of terrorism nor the much needed tax reform issues just because same-sex marriage is under fire.
Regardless of whether you support (or ever supported) the war in Iraq, you have to know that there are hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of people that want to see an end to our way of life and are willing to sacrifice their own by killing us to see that goal realized. I’m not saying we approached the War on Terror in the correct manner, but I do believe it is the #1 priority of our federal government at this time.
As for tax reform, the death tax is merely 1 of over a 100 taxes that did not exist a hundred years ago, a time when our country/economy was the most prosperous in the world. Our current tax code is over 65,000 pages long and no two people (including the IRS) can agree on how to accurately file income taxes. Our current tax structure is filled with thousands of loopholes created by crooked politicians at the request of highly paid lobbyists. For us to compete in the global economy, bring jobs back home, and truely have a transparent and fair taxes for everyone, we absolutely need a complete overhaul of the our tax system. Personally, I support the FairTax, but that’s a different discussion for a different day.
My point here is that just because you one position of a person/group is flawed (absurd), it does not mean that all positions of that person/group are also flawed. I hope you’ll always keep that in mind.
Okay, so I think that was civil, right?
Why are you such a Bush hater? He’s swept up most of the mess from the Clinton era (which was a disgrace to Americans). And the economy is better than it was during Billy Bob’s reign when blow job’s became acceptable (what an accomplishment). If the Democrats become the majority the taxes will be higher…HELLO! Furthermore, if we pull out of Iraq without finishing what we started - WE ARE DOOMED! We will be the laughing stock of the world. And then look forward to more terroristic events…Support your troops because they are protecting us and our freedom.
Yesterday Ted told me about this new game Bully-made from the makers of Grand Theft Auto. The premise, you pick on people. In the game, you can hand the girls flowers and they will kiss you. Also, if you hand some of the boys flowers, they will kiss you too. Parents are flipping out. Oh their pissed about boys kissing, not a game that promotes beating up and picking on kids. Now that’s a WTF! Where are these parents? I just want to take their noses and rub it in their “shit” and say, “Did you do this! Did you do this!” OR while they are throwing tantrums about this, say, “Oh I’ll give you something to cry about!”

while I agree that the tax thing isn’t as simple as I may have suggested by focusing on one issue that is continually discussed up on the Hill, I don’t agree about the war on terrorism.
The actions that our government has taken have cost us thousands of men and women that fought for our country, disfigured and permanently disabled countless numbers of troops, and has taken countless numbers of Iraqi civilians; all of which were not part of the “threat of terrorism” that our government continually tells us we are fighting (remember, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, which is WHY we started the war on terrorism). Additionally, the actions that we continue to take, and blindly “stay the course” on, are in fact causing MORE potential terrorism threats (while ignoring the ones we were supposed to be focused on in the first place — cough*OsamaBinLaden*cough), and causing us to actually make more enemies worldwide. It is safe to say that the actions our government is taking to protect us is actually doing the opposite, so a critique of the so called “war on terrorism” is the absolute minimum thing that I could have said and been fair.
And Boo Boo, seriously? Um, you think the economy is better now? Are you one of the top 2%? Is that why? Because for a ton of other Americans, things are pretty bleak. And, if a blow job is worse than taking billions of dollars in SURPLUS, and turning it into over 300 BILLION dollars in DEFICIT, then I will take the blow job any day. I love how many people focus on that shit, STILL. Bush is a fucking evil, maniacal, manipulative-for-his-own-gain sycophant, and you focus on a blow job. Wow. Perhaps you should really look at what each one of these presidents have actually done (not just what you heard on Fox news), and see which one is really worse. I have a strong feeling that Clinton would be nominated for sainthood compared to what the Bush administration has there hands in, and what they have done.
And as far as taxes being higher… uh, when taxes are higher, well, we get more… you know, benefits from it? And taxes are higher already. Those so-called tax cuts go to the rich and powerful, so the burden is handed back down to the middle and working class. That’s how they do it, the rich keep the rich wealthy; who do you think lobbies hardest on Capitol Hill? It certainly isn’t working class mothers and fathers. Also, you have to realize that someone has to clean up this MESS Bush and his cronies have made (remember, Surplus when he came in… now, ballooning deficit. Where is it going to come from? You and me, baby).
As far as the war on terrorism:
We already ARE the laughing stock of the world, or do you not realize how many more countries hate us even more right now? I’ll just give you a hint; it is a lot more than before 9/11, okay. We are opening ourselves up to more terror now, more than ever, because all we are doing in Iraq is continuing to create and attract more and more enemies, when we never should have been there in the first place. If we really wanted to combat terror, why not go after the terrorists that actually caused 9/11? Well, we aren’t because their friends and relatives (The Saudis) are lining our pockets with hush money so we will look the other way.
And finally, I do support our troops, wholeheartedly. But, I am assuming that for you, supporting them, has to mean keeping them in a war that is not even focusing on the real threat, not giving the minimum supplies to safely stay alive and injury-free (yes, it is mostly republicans that continually turn down the requests for body armor… too expensive, right?), keeping them in harms way, and killing tons of our brave men and women because of a lie; well, then I think my version of supporting them is a little more productive and humane. My support comes in the form of respect for every single person that has gone over there to fight for ME and YOU, and that respect extends into the sheer and utter desire to see them come home safely, and allow them to focus on the real threat, as opposed to fighting for a cause we were made to believe was “the real terror”. I am tired of people suggesting that just because I don’t agree with the war, that I don’t support the troops, because there is nothing further from the truth.

I did not attempt to justify what has happened up to this point with the War on Terror. I simply stated that I feel that terrorism should be our federal government’s #1 concern. And,
I don’t recall any terror attacks on US soil since 9/11. It’s easy to say the government has done nothing when there has been no attack. Of course, had there been an attack, you would also claim the government did nothing (or too little). Anyways, I wasn’t trying to get you to support the existing administration’s history with the War on Terror, just stating that I agree it is our top concern (far over and above banning same-sex marriage).
And finally,
What benefits do you expect from your federal government? I expect none. Well, I expect them to protect our borders and that’s about it but I hardly consider that a benefit. I know this is one of the defining differences in our political point of views, but I simply don’t want my government to provide a bounty of services to me because I feel like I provide those services in a better fashion than the government can.
Yes, I’m one of the “lucky ones” as liberals put it. I can afford healthcare and as well as feed and clothe myself. I recognize that there are people out there that do not have the physical or mental ability to survive on their own. In those cases, I believe that private charities are more than capable of supporting those individuals. When the government gets involved, we develop a welfare system that actually encourages people to not get jobs or develop their own skills. That is something I will not stand for. That is something I refuse to allow my tax dollars be allocated towards (although they already do).
Basically, I cannot fathom how anyone would ever want MORE taxes or feels that the government knows what’s best for me, but maybe that’s just me.
I don’t know why the gay agenda in this country is to keep trying to become part of an institution that obviously doesn’t want them? Create something new!!!
