In all seriousness, though, I read through these comments about how great life was when religion was all-important and all I have to add to this thread is two words: The Crusades.

Have you ever stopped to think that shit like that happens every single day, Isabella? Yes it’s tragic, but if people want to write about it, they can… it’s this little thing we have called the First Amendment, here in the US. I mean, I don’t expect it to stick around forever, but for now, you can say whatever you want. If I get mad, that’s great, but I honestly don’t think a story about my mom (albeit fictitious) would really effect anyone other than her and me. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but the story that we ARE talking about (not about my mom, but thanks for choosing her as an example, considering they don’t even compare at all… my mother is hardly the religious figure these days) does NOT portray Jesus as a “child prostitute, drug addict, who went on to molest you”, I thought it just focuses on what would have happened if he married Mary Magdalene, and had children? I thought that is what ALL Christians wanted out there (well, except for us gays, we are going to burn in hell for even wanting to marry someone, right?), was to get married and breed. Why is it so horrible to think that Jesus might have wanted to as well? I mean, he was created in the image of man by God, right? He was sent here to be our savior, because he was, in essence the embodiment of us, right? That’s why his death was symbolic enough to God to forgive all of our sins, right? Or do I have it wrong, Isabella? I don’t think that I do. So, until I see a story about Jesus, or any other religious figure for that matter, that portrays him as a rapist, prostitute, child molester, or otherwise, I will hold my judgement. You can think whatever you want about this movie, that is fine (I NEVER even suggested that you shouldn’t), but I can too. And I can think that the people that are boycotting and starving themselves over a half-assed work of fiction are actually afraid that it might challenge their beliefs, so they are scared of it… because I can.

Jesus is a big part of many ppls lives whether u choose to acknowledge it or not…and this bullshyt movie has insulted them because it is a story which the AUTHOR HAS CLAIMED HE HAS MADE UP ABOUT JESUS CHRIST….HE HAS INSULTED A SACRED FIGURE…BUT YOU DONT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO GET YOUR HEAD AROUND THAT…

Wow… someone is getting upset. Am I challenging you to think for yourself, Isabella? Because it seems that you are ignoring what I have been saying, remember that I said I am a Christian! So, yeah, I know that Jesus is a big part of people’s lives! DUH! But, this story HAS NOT insulted a sacred figure, it is just a story that MIGHT have happened. If you don’t believe it, then don’t worry about it! Who cares! If you don’t believe it, then you shouldn’t!!! One more thing… since I am answering your questions, why aren’t you answering mine? I mean, that is how we have a discussion, correct? And, not to sound mean (seriously), when you are having a discussion with someone in print, and you are trying to make an argument, the argument is more effective when the spelling is correct and your argument is grammatically correct. Do you think you have some right not to be insulted. When someone insults me, I usually don’t mind. The only time that an insult gets under my skin is when I see some truth in the insult. Your line of thinking is very similar to the rioting muslims that protested the Muhammed cartoons. So you don’t like it, BFD. It doesn’t have a direct effect on your life one way ot another.

If you can’t take a shitty movie with a grain of salt, I’m surprised you don’t fall down more.
