I need to write a book. Seriously. I need to get on that… damn you ADD! Damn you repressed anger and depression that prevent me from doing things I want to do! I am seriously going to though… watch out.
Monday sucks. To top it all off, last night my dumb ass tripped over the threshold from the office to the kitchen, and since that threshold is where the carpet ends and the SHARP hardwoods begin, I managed to almost slice off the underside of my big toe. Seriously, cut a little more deeply, I would no longer have a toe print. Now, I get to sport an ever so sexy limp until that shit heals. I love being clumsy!
But… guess what we got yesterday? Isn’t it a beauty? 42 inches of pure joy… I guess 9 isn’t enough in this case. I guess it is true; buying things CAN make you happy. If you don’t believe that, buy something and see how you are wrong. So, so wrong. Now I can’t wait until Saturday when Comcast brings us our new HD cable box with a DVR inside! Which does record 2 channels at once, everyone who wanted me to have that! But I will miss my tivo… blee bloop blee bloop blee bloop. I wil shut up now.
Hopefully you’ll get the Motorol box … I did not. The damn thing does a few cool things Tivo does not, but short of recording a program it does NOTHING that Tivo does so effortlessly. But HD rocks. Congrats!
Yay! You’ve joined the HD TiFaux crowd!
VERY PRETTY… can you and James be my new Sugar Daddys? Its a a thought.
Awesome!
Mario Bros. will look AWESOME on that
Cool…love the TV and HD is great. Sorry about the toe…but I”m sure the limp could work in your favor if you needed it to :>)
Boo to cable, boo!!! full disclosure: I work for Dish Network.
Hope the toe heals quickly.
I hope you watched plenty of porn on the big TV last night. Or, if you didn’t, I hope you plan to do so in the near future.
As for the big toe incident - my dad swears by Johnson and Johnson’s First Aid Cream. It was the go-to remedy for all manner of cuts, bruises, and maimings when I was a kid. This is because (apparently) one time when my dad was in Vietnam (no, this is not a Walter Sobchak-esque story) he tripped over a piece of jagged wood and cut his big toe damn near off. He proceeded to slather it with First Aid Cream day in and day out, and it healed. I can attest, he has two normal big toes to this day.
Hope the toe heals well and that watching Grey’s Anatomy and Lost in HD speeds your recovery.
Giving up my beloved TiVo in favor of a GenericDVR was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do…
But HD is soo worth it. Congratulations on the brave show of consumer spending! It’s what keeps the American economy humming along (that, and the little “war” thing that’s going on somewhere in the world… Idaho, I think?)
Are you sure you can record two channels at once? I have the Comcast Motorola DVR and I can only record the channel I’m watching.
KEWL! It’s all over now. We got an XBOX 360, Ghost Recon and the 60″ plasma in our showroom here at work. Lunches are now eating in and taking a break playing Xbox. Oh lord the humanity!
OK, to answer my own question, Comcast have a new dual-tuner 120GB DVR out which they never had when I got mine a year ago. You’d think the bastards would let their customers know so they can upgrade.

I’ll go ahead and take the Tivo off you hands
Careful watching the HD channels. You WILL lose the signal. I have no idea why. During one American Idol episode, it did it every 10 minutes - the screen goes blank and the box goes off and then has to reset. It’s maybe a minute or two but frustrating nonetheless. I keep forgetting to call and complain especially after I see the Comcast commericals badmouthing the satellite companies because supposedly they go out during bad weather. My friend has one and has never lost a signal.
Murf, I have never had that happen. You should call Comcast -that would be so annoying! I hate them, anyway.
I love my HD TV and when LOGO became available in our area I decided to take the plunge and go from basic cable to the HD/Movie package. After months and service calls of having wonderful high definition large pixelated blocks, dropped sound, and dvr recordings of 1 sec because the dvr couldn’t pick up any useable signal, we cancelled the HD tier. Charter said that while our signal was as low as it could be and still be considered acceptable, they considered it acceptable. Soon I’ll be cancelling the rest of our TV services and taking back the dvrs. The broadcast HDTV is much better quality anyway.
Nice box! 42″ is great…can’t say I’ll turn away the 9 tho!
