Yeah, like Rusty said, I have experience with these things. I have helped a friend hack his RAZR as well, so I have some experience with it. Let me know if I can help you. All I charged Rusty was a beer.

Speaking of which, I never got that beer, Rusty. Seriously.

I don't know... people bitch about their carrier no matter which one they're with. I've been with Verizon, Sprint and now T-mobile, and in my experience anyway they're all the same. The only reason I move is if the phone I want is not offered by the carrier I'm currently with, or if another carrier is offering a better deal, e.g. more free minutes for the same price. Now that you can keep the same number when you switch it really is no big deal, IMHO.

And as for Verizon locking down the ability to transfer files via bluetooth in order to force you to pay, t-mobile does the same thing. I may be wrong but they probably all do that. Bastards.

I considered getting a razr but changed my mind. I was holding out for a phone with a better camera and mp3 player, but I know that if and when I do buy one I probably won't use either feature after the first few days when the novelty wears off. Maybe I'll just keep my year-old phone and get one of these:

With Garrett's help, I unlocked my Verizon Motorola e815 to let me do Bluetooth file transfers and change my PIX server. I don't know if that could be done with the RAZR or not, but it's worth Googling.

I'm all for Verizon...almost everyone I know has Verizon which is a huge help with minutes used and such. I did however today get my minutes decreased...although we use our phones for everything...no landline.

Hey duane, you should checkout the HowardForums. It contains pretty much everything you would ever want to know about any cellphone ever made.

Oh, and the LG VX6100 is a pretty nice phone. I think there is a newer version now, but I like mine. Not as fancy as the Razr, but I can create mp3 ringtones from songs I have and transfer them to the phone for *free* with the USB cable that I bought from eBay for $.99 (plus $5 shipping) and a couple of free softwares downloaded from the Internet.
