I’m one of the few people who hate IKEA. Sure, I love the fact that I can eat a hot dog for fifty cents. And I love the idea of being able to buy a CD holder for 30 bucks. But damn I hate the instructions! They’re written in hieroglyphics or Sumerian or something. And everything I want is “out of stock.” It’s a WAREHOUSE! Why is it out of stock?

    Nice. Love the wall colour!

Who’s the chef in your household?

Glad you all love my dimly lit kitchen photo!!! LOL As for the wires, they are stapled up underneath the cabinet. Totally hidden. That took about an hour. I am a perfectionist, so sue me. As for the kitchen, I tend to be the chef, so that is how I like it; well lit. We are going to get granite counter-tops soon, so I can’t wait til I can show those off!!

Ted, sorry you have those IKEA sad stories. I didn’t see the appeal until we got one here in ATL. Now, I am a lover of the store. I don’t go crazy, and I certainly don’t want EVERYTHING, but I do have these AWESOME DVD shelves that I got for like $30; which I found on sale today for $15. Dammit Janet!

That’s hot. When are you having me over for dinner (and karaoke)?

I have put together so much IKEA furniture for myself and for friends that I can do it all blindfolded using only a butter knife. Some of their stuff is just brilliant, some of it I want to throw away before I even get out of the parking lot. Good job with the kitchen lighting.

    : )

Good taste and a neat freak. Your man is a lucky man.

Are the walls orange?? It takes a brave person to have an orange kitchen (just ask Carol Brady), but you pulled it off well! I need to start a portfolio of ideas for when I buy my first condo this summer…

OMG Duane! I love your kitchen.. it’s neat and tidy and man I love those cabinets and lightings. IKEA, the place to be for furnitures and such. One thing I love to buy from IKEA is its mouse pad. The best mouse pad ever.

Kiddo, the walls are actually a farmhouse-y red. Check out this link for more pictures of my house that are better lit. http://www.duanemoody.com/house.html

I only took this picture in the dark because I wanted to get the effect of the lights… =o) Now, my bathroom, it is orange. Orange is my favorite color!

    Also, see the shout out!!

Your kitchen makes mine look like public housing. Ish! “Thanks” for the reminder that I need to get my fanny in gear with some of my own DIY projects on the homefront! Looks great!

I tried to get the same effect a few residences ago with Christmas lights, and it didn’t quite work. I also tried them behind my couch (because I had extra) … now that was a pain in the ass to unplug when I left the house.

Nice work … I miss my house. My studio here in DC just ain’t the same.

Oh god. Your kitchen makes me so wet.

One day, when I have a kitchen that I actually own, you’re coming over to decorate it. After Miss Audacity is done with you, of course.
