Georgia Aquarium… our first visit

I bought James a season pass for Christmas, and this was our first opportunity to check out the new Georgia Aquarium. The place is pretty huge, and definitely impressive. Only downside is the number of people. Since everything is kind of “tanked” off, you have to wait and kind of push your way to see anything. People are pretty much not caring that you want to see it to, either. Regardless, I managed to snap several shots, all of which I will eventually edit and get up on flickr, and on my photographs page. Here are a few teasers to wet your appetite:

This post is so “Finding Nemo”. Looks like a cool way to spend a winter’s day…

Umm… yes, and I captured the penguins being all sweet for you. Seriously, I was like, Amber will love this while I was shooting them. I will try to get it up ASAP. The penguins are the cutest ever!

Why is it that the best aquariums are generally in landlocked cities? It makes my head hurt. : )

That seadragon is insane! I’m so jealous. I love aquariums!

Is there a hidden meaning in you posting the pirhanas first?

Are those Pirhanas? *shudders* I love aquariums sooo much!

    Happy Holidays Duane!

Matt, LOL, no, there is no meaning in that… they were actually the best subjects at the aquarium; they sit completely still. I guess they are contemplating ways to get out and eat you.

PG, yep, those are piranhas! I used to be terrified of those things because I saw a movie called piranhas when I was little. I was even “tapped” by a fish in a lake once, and I was so scared I ran out of that lake and didn’t get back in… I thought it was a piranha. Too bad they don’t live in the lake we were at; silly kid.

Well Jesus, Duane, you didn’t have to shoot them. I would’ve been fine with just a photograph. Never liked it when people had animal heads mounted on their walls.

But seriously… great pics. What kind of camera do you have?

I got lots of funny looks when I shot them. At least I didn’t shoot on them… okay, that is getting a little x-rated, and we want to keep this blog clean!

And I have the Canon A520; it is 4mp, and it ROCKS! It is also only like $200 now… totally worth it!

Well, ya know, I WILL be needing a new camera pretty soon here… *conspiratorial look*

    Thanks for the info.

Amber, my friend got a Canon Rebel E-something… aka, a kick ass camera for Christmas. I WANT THAT!
