It's so hard for really talented artists to get stuff released if it doesn't appear commercial enough or if the artist doesn't market well. Aimee Mann had this problem years ago so she just started releasing her own stuff, problem solved. The title of your post made me think of Maggie Gyllenhaal (oh Jakey) in the movie Happy Endings. I can not judge, I have not heard the leaked version. I have however purchased the album, and I have to say I am loving it, it took me a few listens to get into because it is so different from her other stuff, but it grew on me fast. It is actually her best stuff thus far in my opinion. The downloaded version for some reason didn't totally sit well with me and I'm not sure why...maybe I was expecting too much OLD Fiona. I still need to really listen to the album though but my car stereo (the only place I listen to music) is in crapsville. Oh and she is a phenomenal poet...she blows me away.
